Tell us about Viktoriia's artwork.

Viktoriia hails from Russia, a country where it's not customary to openly display emotions or talk about feelings that don't actually exist. She is not particularly emotional and is reserved in negative emotions. She's not afraid to show her true self through her paintings. She believes that within each of us lies an animal, and more than one, and it is this animal that is our true form, hidden behind the burden of thoughts, beliefs, and the opinions that surround us.

Who or what inspires Viktoriia to create?

She is inspired by her emotions - those that are difficult to describe in words and can only be shown through color and composition. She doesn't like thinging in a flat way. She constantly asks herself, "How do I truly see this or that situation and emotion?", "How does it more deeply reveal who I am inside?" She believes that if a person can feel any emotion through a painting, then that painting is successful, which is why she loves observing the world and other works that make her feel.

What is Viktoriia's favorite art form?

Viktoriia loves painting and has been painting since early childhood. She tried watercolor, acrylic, and oil, but settled on gouache. For her, it's the perfect medium, combining the transparency of watercolor with the density of acrylic, allowing for deep color and easy manipulation of form. In her native country, gouache is considered "childish," but her works are anything but childish. For her, gouache symbolizes adolescence: when you're not a child but not yet an adult.
