As Taylen’s parent, I’ve watched her create art every day because it’s simply part of who she is. She imagines, designs, and builds from the moment she wakes up. Her drawings often become handmade props or structures made from everyday materials. Taylen blends creativity with problem-solving, learning through trial and curiosity. She sees possibility in everything and creates because it brings her joy.
Who or what inspires Taylen to create?Taylen is inspired by the world around her and the belief that anything can be made. If something doesn’t already exist, she sees it as an opportunity to create. She finds beauty in everyday objects and becomes resourceful with whatever materials are available. Watching creativity in action encourages her to experiment, problem-solve, and trust her ideas. Most of all, she’s inspired by curiosity and the joy of turning ideas into something real.
What is Taylen's favorite art form?Taylen’s favorite art form depends on the day and her mood. Lately, she loves watercolor because she enjoys watching the colors blend—just not too much. When she wants more control, she chooses markers, and when she’s feeling extra focused, she reaches for colored pencils so she can shade and add detail. She enjoys experimenting with different materials and picks what best matches her ideas.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like America’s Most Artistic Kid, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
