Learn MoreNot only can she draw but the kid has taught herself how to crochet, create 3-D figures out of paper, and sculpture design from various mediums and found objects. In 3rd grade she made and "sold" bottles of slime to her classmates and created a class newspaper, which she handed out weekly to whomever wanted a copy. She has created Wolverine claws out of cardboard and is currently into nail design (to be sold to friends of course) and crochet critters. She is continuously evolving as an artist.
Who or what inspires Sydney to create?Sydney is a big fan of maker videos on YouTube and has learned so much from various creators. She is inspired by so many things, from the silly characters on Roblox/Murder Jones/Five Nights at Freddie's to macarons/food items. She will take on just about anything if it fits whatever narrative her design is shooting for. She is such a compassionate, inclusive, and empathetic kid whose gentle spirit reminds me so much of Bob Ross and his quiet brilliance.
What is Sydney's favorite art form? Her favorite art form is mixed media. She loves the whole design process from sketching and drawing to creating her art out of anything she can find, from wire to clay. At any given moment she can be working on her junk journal (which is found objects, sketching/drawing and writing), sculpting critters and items out of quick-dry clay, or crocheting her next scarf or hat to give to a friend.
