He is very creative and all about detail in his artwork. For a six-year-old, he amazes me. He can draw almost anything without even looking at it. He pays attention to texture and shading and things that aren’t typical for someone of his age. He loves watching Bob Ross on TV. Anytime he can pick up a pencil or a marker, he is always doodling. He loves abstract art, but at the same time loves realism, and for things to be exactly the way they look in real life.

He is very into Minecraft and Plants versus Zombies. He also loves sea life so anytime he gets the opportunity, he draws something from one of those games or the ocean. We recently went to a painting event and he wanted a blank canvas so he could paint the ocean, rather than follow the step-by-step instructions. He painted everything down to the details of the crab and the stingray and a whole school of fish.

He likes to sketch. Anything artistic is up his alley and he’ll never turn away a paintbrush, but he does like to sketch. At times, he really likes abstract art, but for the most part, he likes to draw realistic interpretations of things from his video games.
