Myra has been creating art since she was 2 years old, grabbing papers and crayons, then planting herself at any flat surface to draw.
Thank you for supporting Myra in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Blood Cancer United and their mission to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of all patients and their families.
Myra enjoys drawing characters and creating stories for them. She develops whole social circles and challenges for her characters to live through. Currently, she’s diving into creating caricatures of her friends. Myra also loves creating “squishies” made with paper and tape, decorated with love, and stuffed with whatever she can find (couch stuffing, plastic bags, tissues, etc.). Myra even makes air dry clay figures and band loom bracelets. She then uses the trinkets to make blind bags.
Who or what inspires Myra to create?Myra is inspired by her friends, YouTube crafters, and toys and characters her little siblings enjoy. As her parents, we’re always encouraging her to create even if it won’t or can’t be perfect.
What is Myra's favorite art form?Myra’s favorite art form is sketching. From original characters and caricatures to activity worksheets and coloring pages for her siblings, on paper or on the phone, Myra’s pencils and markers are always on the move.
