Mira has been creating art since she was a preschooler. She loves to draw and paint and she loves to experiment with different methods to find new ways to express herself. Her love of animals shines through her art, as well as her appreciation for landscape scenes. She also loves to create multimedia sculpture pieces out of interesting bits, bobs, and ‘treasures’ she finds throughout her day. What I love most about her art is that she loves to share it with others, bringing joy to everyone.

It was important for me that Mira voice her own answers and to not answer for her. When I asked her this question she looked directly at me and said “you.” That she learned to love art and paint because of me. When I get out my watercolors, she joins me at the kitchen table, takes out her own supplies, and paints with me, either copying what I’ve done or creating something new and beautiful. I’m honored to be her inspiration to create art.

According to Mira, she loves all forms of art. In fact, she has multiple cabinets around the house to contain all her supplies! Currently she is in her painting period, and while she does use acrylic, her preference at the moment is watercolor. She loves creating layers of color to define her composition, and one of the traits I’ve seen recently is how confidently and boldly she lays down her ideas.
