Mannah

My child is a self taught artist. It is very impressive she creates an ability to translate her vision to drawing with no one to guide her.

Tell us about Mannah's artwork.

Mannah’s work is always original in her own self expression but a common touch of collective reflection. I observed over years whether professional artists or lay people can find mutual agreement and bonding to relate to her drawing. It seems like Mannah’s stroke connects to a very authentic human feeling, warm and thoughtful. It is through simple image, people can wonder beauty and purpose. Either object or portrait, it is a journey of gratitude, confidence and strength, revealing quiet power.

Who or what inspires Mannah to create?

It is wisdoms of life. Mannah often interacts with elders. She loves to observe seniors who show her actual life skills, listen to their conversations and practice along with them for companionship. For Mannah, there is no gap of culture, age and field of study. She is able to cross over seemingly difference and find essential voice of people. She translates that to colors and shapes for illustration. She never gets frustrated and keeps reshaping her interpretation of life in different images.

What is Mannah's favorite art form?

Mannah loves graphite and oil pastel. Mannah enjoys quick and strong strokes. This is a reinforcement of her hilarious personality. She is a very cheerful child. Her imagination is very grand and meanwhile full of details. Such form gives room for vast amounts of outpouring emotions and contains refined polish. The drawing in pencil or oil whether with color or not is layered and represents level of thinkings. It often creates a sense of humor when there is hidden story by cute messages within.
