Klaire is an incredible artist, illustrator, and painter with talent far beyond her years. She creates boldly and imagines without limits.
Thank you for supporting Klaire in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Blood Cancer United and their mission to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of all patients and their families.
Klaire works with watercolor and Posca markers to create detailed character illustrations and paper dragon puppets. She carefully selects colors based on lighting and has a natural sense of shading she developed independently. While hands and heads challenge her, she practices using basic shapes to improve. Her movable dragon puppets each have unique personalities, and completing a project gives her a strong sense of accomplishment.
Who or what inspires Klaire to create?Klaire draws inspiration from Keath Ósk’s music and storytelling, expressive anime art, and fantasy—especially Greek mythology. She’s drawn to emotion, symbolism, and fluid anatomy, and enjoys reimagining mythological figures as her own characters, adding personal interpretation and creative detail.
What is Klaire's favorite art form?Klaire’s favorite form of art is her writing. It gives narrative and meaning to her work, allowing her to develop creative, symbolic, and emotionally expressive paintings, illustrations, and puppets. Her writing builds the world and context behind every piece she creates.
