Tell us about Kennedy's artwork.

Creative from an early age, Kennedy's artwork ranges from dynamic, to abstract, to whimsical, to thought provoking, to somber, to heartwarming and sometimes a single piece of art can encompass several of these elements. Kennedy also has the unique talent of being able to capture and highlight a range of emotions in her subjects' faces. As a visual artist and thespian, Kennedy's unique talents have led her to the role of designer of the theatrical playbills and posters for her school.

Who or what inspires Kennedy to create?

Kennedy is inspired by current events, life experiences, nature and her relationships with others. In January of last year, Kennedy became the first youth member of the African Americans for the Arts (AAFTA) artist consortium in Atlanta, Georgia. Through her affiliation with AAFTA, Kennedy has further connected with her community by exhibiting her art throughout the city and sometimes the theme of an art exhibition can also inspire her creations.

What is Kennedy's favorite art form?

Kennedy's favorite art form is drawing. She enjoys drawing with pencil, charcoal, ink, and digitally. She takes pleasure in drawing on paper, canvas, wood and other mediums. She likes to draw because drawing involves creating lines, contouring and shading. Drawing can also be the foundation for other artistic mediums she enjoys doing like painting, sculpting and design work.
