From a young child he would use everything as his canvas. His favorite medium is cardboard and he creates everything from miniature versions of real objects to “houses” that can hold his favorite toys. He has multiple canvas paintings, mostly abstract and some landscape.
Who or what inspires James to create? He is inspired by, quite literally everything- he has a profound sensory connection to the world around him. Creating is a self-soothing, meditative experience that allows him to express his unique, detailed view of the world. Creating gives him a sense of control and calm in a world that can feel overwhelming. His process is deeply focused and intentional, allowing him to thrive.
What is James's favorite art form?He favors mixed media assemblage but he’s working on acrylic and mixed media painting. He sees a “happy accident” in every scrap of paper and every “wrong” stroke of the brush. He has an incredible, innate ability to turn everyday materials into meaningful pieces. He is currently working on bringing that same sense of texture and depth to the canvas, where he’s exploring the world of color and light.
