Tell us about Indigo's artwork.

Watching Indigo create artwork is like watching a fairy cast a spell...it's intentional and filled with pure love. She takes her time and experiments; she projects her imagination onto the page and fills it with dreams or expressive imagery. A visual language of her thoughts. Although she is still very young & evolving, she has a dedicated daily practice and has had her work exhibited in art shows. Her work is whimsical, emotional, and witty.

Who or what inspires Indigo to create?

Indigo's dreams, her day, what she observes in the world. She will wake up and say, I need to draw my dream! She skateboards and will draw her and our family skateboarding. She doesn't like taking the bus and will make a drawing about that feeling. We live in nature and she is very influenced by that surrounding, incorporating actual nature into her work or using it as a medium/ mark maker. She loves watching YouTube videos of Bob Ross & comes from a family of artists that also inspire her.

What is Indigo's favorite art form?

Indigo loves experimenting with all kinds of materials, her favorite is painting & using different painting methods. Whether it be using acrylic with gel plates for printmaking, collaging old painting images together, making her own paint pigments with natural items she finds, or using splatter and/or blending techniques - she is all about painting! Watercolor, acrylic, ink, etc! She isn't limited to canvas either - she's painted on shoes, shirts, and wood too!
