Tell us about Ezra's artwork.

Ezra Blumenfeld spotlights the intangible. Ezra seeks to help the common eye see past the veil of reality. Though most notable in photography, Ezra uses all mediums. Photography, oil and acrylic paint, charcoal, graphite, marker, writing, choreography, ceramics, sculpture, print, acting, baking, you name it, Ezra does it. Ezra views art as a language, each detail a purpose and each “mistake” a meaning. Ezra challenges the viewer to not only look into the art, but to find it within themselves.

Who or what inspires Ezra to create?

What is unseen inspires Ezra to create. The things we can’t see, or don’t see, create an incredible bud for Ezra’s creativity to blossom from. Take Ezra’s photography, Ezra blows up the small things you have to crouch to see, captures emotion through editing and even in long exposure portraits. Those things that are impossible to describe and hide from us, Ezra seeks it out and tries to describe it in the language they know best, art.

What is Ezra's favorite art form?

It should be no shock to know that photography is Ezra’s favorite art form. Due to its accessible nature, photography meshes incredibly with Ezra’s spontaneous mind. The ability to set up a camera and instantly capture a moment, a true candid with no biases or edits like how you can with a drawing; and when it's posed or edited, the photo can provide such meaningful symbolism with obvious effort to achieve the final product. It captures the truth and lies of the eye.
