Tell us about Elliott's artwork.

Elliott hopes to place her scientific knowledge into her art. She wants to teach something with each image she makes. She loves science. Her art starts with extensive research, not in subject or medium, but in the science that makes up her piece. Yet, you won’t understand it until she explains it. Then, you’re shown a new side to the art. This visual education creates something you’ll never forget. She weaves her education into her art, leaving her audience wondering what everything means.

Who or what inspires Elliott to create?

Elliott’s inspiration comes from her peers. She marvels at their artwork, whether she likes, or hates, the artist. She makes art to be just as amazing as them. She tends to lose her spark when she’s not surrounded by other artists. She’s also friends with many artists. She’ll tell me about how Grayson did this, or Sam is teaching her that. Then, all of a sudden, her art has elements of what they taught her. Her friends push her out of her comfort zone. Without them, her art wouldn’t be the same.

What is Elliott's favorite art form?

Elliott is one to try everything. She has always struggled to find ‘her’ thing. She excels in mark making, however. So, colored pencils are a strong medium for her. She often incorporates a large range of color, using depth she can only get with said colored pencils. She’s a colorful person, and it certainly shows. She has also always liked using materials easily accessible to her since she creates whenever life brings her to. Therefore, colored pencils on simple pastel paper are her favorite.
