As a highly intelligent child diagnosed with AuDHD, Declan-Haven has long utilized art to frame his understanding of the world; to manage anxieties when they feel consuming; and to forge connections with his peers. His use of color, his use of perspective---these are innate gifts and through them he offers us a glimpse into a fecund, gorgeous mind.

Declan-Haven's father is Nathan Rabin, the film critic and originator of the term "manic pixie dream girl." Like his dad, Dex is inspired by the media he consumes and filters through his own schema; like many autistics, his most vibrant and authentic relationships are informed by the films, music, and books he loves. Dex's art showcases this love.
