Which young artist will display their work in a museum, appear on The Joy of Painting, and win $20,000?
Learn MoreCarini’s art is unique and special because she is able to use many different artistic styles and materials to achieve what she sees in her mind. She can take everyday objects and materials and create things that are interesting, impressive, beautiful, and sometimes scary (as in, when she creates special effects makeup looks). However she also is very focused and can follow instruction and teaching with art, like at school or painting classes. She always amazes me with her creations!
Who or what inspires Carini to create?Carini has always had a very developed artistic and creative side, even at a very young age. She has said “I just always have wanted to make things.” At around age 7-8, we signed Carini up for a “free-art class” (a class where students were free to create whatever they wanted with artist supervision and feedback). Leon Crosby, a local artist, saw her enthusiasm and potential and was extremely encouraging. As she has gotten older, Carini also gains inspiration from other YouTube creators.
What is Carini's favorite art form?Carini says that she loves painting the best. “Some paintings can be relaxing; others can have more pressure to pay attention to the small details. Either way it is so much fun and I love creating a painting, and seeing what I accomplish!” As her mother, who has watched her grow up doing many different kinds of art, my favorite is when she does special effects makeup. She’s never had professional supplies, so to watch her create with household items impresses me so much! She’s good at it too!
