Which young artist will display their work in a museum, appear on The Joy of Painting, and win $20,000?
Learn MoreCalliope has always loved to color and paint and draw. As she’s gotten older, she leans more into drawing but still enjoys other forms of art too. She has taken a couple of sculpting/clay working after school classes where she made trinkets, animal statues and even a jewelry box out of clay and truly loves it.
Who or what inspires Calliope to create? As a family we have always drawn and colored and painted together and Calliope says that her family and friends inspire her. However, she is also greatly inspired by animals and pop culture. She will be watching a movie or TV show and pause the TV and say “I have to draw that“ and we all have to wait while she sketches out her vision based on what she sees on TV.
What is Calliope's favorite art form?At this point in time it would be drawing, she has ADHD and drawing helps her focus and concentrate. She comes home with a backpack full of scrap papers almost daily of pictures she’s drawn of her friends and classmates. She says “I love drawing because there’s no limit to what I can draw and then color, I can literally create anything!”
