Aviv could draw and color for hours - and one squiggle could eventually turn into a pile of snakes or a nest for a fantastical bird. Her favorite colors, pink and purple, always find their ways into her honest creations which capture abstractions of her dreams and whimsical flights of fancy coupled with a preciously precocious three-year-old honesty "My Super Power is being a little owl." She is like a toddler Hilma af Klint with Jim Henson levels of wonder.

Aviv loves cats, mermaids, unicorns and fantastical worlds like Rankin Bass' version of The Hobbit, and David Bowie's Labyrinth. It's not so much about her needed to be inspired, as it is about an intrinsic necessity as essential as breathing. She could spend hours turning a cardboard box into a spaceship to Mermaidlantis, making cartoon characters out of popsicle sticks (our last round was the characters from Spongebob as babies), or making "tattoo" designs for mommy on paper.

Coloring with crayons and tempera paint. She loves to use paper, but we really enjoy using leftover cardboard boxes and decorating them into different vehicles, houses, and "stages" for theatrical plays.
