Avery loves art because she "likes making things, it’s fun and makes me happy." I hope we all embrace what brings us joy and happiness.

Learn MoreI like to put backgrounds in my art so it’s not just one thing in the middle because that is boring. I add details like being outside. I like coloring things how they look in real life. My mom told me Bob Ross liked to paint "happy little skies and trees," and I like that too. Sometimes I label things, so people know what they are. I love glue sticks, tape, scissors, paint, and folding paper to make picture frames and flowers because making art makes me feel happy and proud.
Who or what inspires Avery to create?Art projects at school, inspire me to make art. It makes me feel really good when my art teacher tells me I’m doing great. Sometimes writing a book is art too because I make pictures in it. I like making books about my family because I love them. I love drawing owls because they are my favorite animal. When I make mistakes, I turn them into new things. My mom told me Bob Ross said, "we don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents". That helps me keep trying and getting better.
What is Avery's favorite art form?My favorite art is making things out of clay because you can actually use them, like teacups and bowls. I like squishing the clay and shaping it with my hands. Sometimes it doesn’t turn out how I think, but my mom always reminds me Bob Ross said there are "happy little accidents", and that makes it okay. Clay makes me feel happy and excited, especially when I make something I can use and share with my family and friends, and it makes me want to keep making more art.
