Tell us about Ava's artwork.

Ava’s artwork is rooted in emotion, storytelling, and connection. Inspired by her home state of Kentucky’s quiet beauty, she creates pieces that invite personal reflection. As the youngest student in Advanced Placement Art Class at her school and a Kentucky State Fair Best Junior Entry award winner, she combines strong fundamentals with expressive depth. Like Bob Ross, she believes art should be calming, accessible, and meaningful.

Who or what inspires Ava to create?

Ava is inspired by the impact art can have on people. Influenced by Bob Ross, she sees art as a way to relieve stress and bring peace. She also creates so others can connect to something meaningful and feel less alone. Additionally, she’s driven to give back; intending to use a portion of the prize money to fund “Art From The Heart,” an initiative to provide free art supplies through community boxes (similar to neighborhood little libraries) for kids in underserved areas in our local community.

What is Ava's favorite art form?

Ava’s favorite mediums are oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting, where she explores color, depth, and emotion. Pencil sketching remains foundational, helping her refine technique and bring ideas to life. She expresses herself artistically in all forms of her life, from her personal style and fashion to decorating her living space to her musicianship as an accomplished guitarist. No matter the form, her goal is to express her unique perspective and bring her ideas to life in a way only she can.
