Learn MoreFrom a very young age Augie has been creating art! His artwork takes on many forms. He gets engrossed in doodles that lay the groundwork for his drawings and paintings. Often he is inspired to let his art lead him, and leans into the abstract. Augie loves creating unique small scale sculptural scenes. “A lot of kids start getting into art and then their mood for art starts fizzling out as they get older, and I think if you are into art as a kid you should always be into art." -Augie
Who or what inspires Augie to create?Augie says his mom Emily inspired him to be an artist, by watching her create and giving him access to materials and the freedom to explore them. At 10 months old, Augie was diagnosed with life threatening food allergies, his mom decided to replace the tradition of blowing out birthday cake candles, with making a birthday painting. Augie took to this tradition and never looked back! It started as one painting per year and turned into much more. Nature, science, politics and more inspire him.
What is Augie's favorite art form?Augie loves his preliminary sketches! His notes and doodles are the foundations of his final projects. He loves to capture his ideas and then turn them into drawings or paintings.
