She lives with an art utensil in her hand. She is my little prodigy. Amari is 7 years old, and a wonderful artist and even better person!

Learn MoreI noticed how talented she was when she could color in the lines, write her name by two, and she painted a whole portrait of a dog at three years old. She’s been in art classes and ballet/dance the past two years. But when I say she is ALWAYS drawing, I mean from sunrise to sunset. Her work speaks for itself, she draws whatever she wants and as much as she pleases, only having to peel her away for homeschooling. And I love my little artist. We are so proud of her.
Who or what inspires Amari to create? She’s compelled to do it. It’s what makes her happy, and how proud she is of some of her work when she brings it to me to show me. More recently she’s been into anime, and she loves drawing in that style. Ive seen her use it as a coping mechanism when she lost her dog, drawing hundreds of pictures of him as an angel. She sleeps with her sketchbooks in her bed on the top bunk, and brings them out with her like a child would their favorite blanket or toy.
What is Amari's favorite art form? All of them. But definitely visual art and drawing are her main thing right now. We’re slowly trying to introduce her to all of them, music and everything, but the art classes definitely helped teach her different styles and mediums/techniques. For now she just is happiest with a utensil in her hand.
